Saturday Evening

7:00 PM     Children's Classes Open (12 months thru 5th grade)

7:30 PM     The Spirit-Filled Church (See description below)

After a morning of inspiration, deep teaching, practical learning, and open sharing, followed by a lengthy afternoon break to reflect, to enjoy time with your family, or to catch up on a long-time friendship, the second day of the Festival culminates in a time of joy and enlightenment as we meet in the Grand Ballroom to sing and examine the characteristics of a Spirit-filled church.  The following five aspects of the 1st Century church will be presented:

  • Constantly in Prayer (David Laing)  The book of Acts is a story of action, but it is action sustained and empowered by prayer.  These early disciples prayed--and did they ever!  From our first glimpse of them in chapter one to the challenges of persecution, illness, storm, conflict...whatever their situation, they faced it with prayer.  It was the air they breathed.  Prayer was the secret of their power and the means by which they tapped into the strength and presence of the Holy Spirit.  If we wish to be the church they were, we will need to pray as they prayed.
  • They Shared Everything They Had (Sonny Sessions)  These early Christians changed the world because they did not love the world or the things in the world.  They gladly shared and gave away their possessions to benefit other Christians, and to help the needy.  If we are to take care of our own, if we are to show people in the world our love, and if we are to preach the gospel around the world, it will mean we must be generous, giving people--and be happy while we are doing it!
  • Men and Women, Jews and Gentiles, Samaritans and Ethiopians (JP Tynes) The early church lived out Jesus' command to preach the gospel to all nations.  They broke the barriers of gender, race, religion, politics, culture and custom.  If we are to bear witness to the uniting power of the gospel, we must, like them, build churches composed of all peoples, ages, races, genders, and nations.  It can be done, and when we do, the world will sit up and take notice.
  • Great Fear Seized the Whole Church (Richard Alawaye) These disciples were filled with joy and udnerstood the grace of God, and they also understood that grace was purchased at a price.  They understood that God was holy, and that he called them to be holy, and that his holiness was not to be trifiled with.  Today we must preach the forgiveness and joy of salvation, but the fear of God as well.  And when we as a church stand in the fear of God, paradoxically, we will be the most confident and happy of people.
  • They Never Stopped Preaching (Rick Overturf)  The early Christians talked about Jesus and the Good News--all of them and all the time!  No matter what resistance, no matter what threats, no matter what struggles the church may have been going through--one thing remained constant--they continued to share the Good News of God. Every member, all the time, anywhere, any time...they never stopped.  May we be like them--and when we do, get ready for God to do great things!

Let us come together this evening in full force as believers from all over the Southeast to worship and to give special attention to the Spirit's call to being one in mind for the honor and purpose that God intends for his church...a church filled with the Spirit!

9:00 PM     Promptly pick up children, visit The Wall - closes at Midnight

9:30 PM     Singles' Mixer

Sunday

7:00 AM     Visit The Wall

9:00 AM     Children's Classes Open (12 month thru 5th grade)

9:30 AM     They Reported Everything God Had Done Through Them

The sharing of the working of God was a sacred time of wonder and praise in the early church.  They would gather and listen with rapt attention as preachers and workers told of how God had used them and changed the world through their lives and ministry.  Let us, like our brothers of Acts, give glory to God as we hear the reports of what His Spirit is doing today!

10:30 AM   Worship Service

Extended time of Praise, Worship, and Communion

Acts 2010: The Next Chapter (Douglas Arthur)

Now it is our time -- the time for the Spirit to write a new chapter through us. It is time for us as God's church of today to yield to His Spirit as never before. It is time to see a fresh outpouring of the Spirit. It is time to see greater things than we have ever seen in our lifetime! Let us in faith and expectation open our hearts, our lives and our mouths, and may we see God's church become all she was meant to be, filled with the Spirit and with the glory of the Lord!

12:30 PM     Promptly pick up children

Southeast Church Leaders Workshop

This program is open to Evangelists, Elders, Deacons, Church Staff Members, Board Members, Ministry Interns, and Ministry Leaders.  Click the Attend the Leader's Program button on the registration form.

The Southeast Church Leaders Workshop to take place immediately after the Festival of Faith on Sunday evening through Monday afternoon February 14 - 15, 2010.

We have procured outstanding speakers and presenters for what we believe will be a life-changing and church-changing event. The workshop is being held after the conference this year in order to maximize its inspiration and impact. Festival planners decided that scheduling the workshop after the larger program would enable us as leaders to focus on learning, fellowshipping and growing without the distractions of the seminar looming ahead of us.

We encourage elders and evangelists from every SE church to attend, and to bring with you other leaders in your churches whom you think would benefit. When in doubt, bring them with you! Leadership is the key to taking what we learn at the Festival and making it come to life in our local church.

The theme of the Festival is ACTS 2010 - THE NEXT CHAPTER.  We all want our churches to write a glorious, unforgettable "next chapter" in their history. This workshop will teach us and inspire us to do just that!

"Strengthening the Churches"

He went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches. (Acts 15:41)

Southeast Leaders Workshop
Presented in conjunction with the 2010 Festival of Faith
February 14 & 15, 2010
Athens, GA

The role of an evangelist, elder, deacon and any church leader is to strengthen the church of the Lord and help her to be all that God wants her to be. But in order to accomplish this great task, this means we need to be strong ourselves. And to be strong, we need to grasp every to opportunity to grow and expose ourselves to others from whom we can learn, and draw inspiration and wisdom.

Join us for the 2010 Southeast Leaders Workshop for just such an opportunity! Following the tremendous time of inspiration provided by The Festival of Faith - Acts 2010 the Next Chapter - we will be ready to hear and learn how we can help lead our own church to write the next inspiring chapter in her history!

To lead our workshop we have procured the services of some of the most capable church leaders in our brotherhood.

Doug is also an "expert builder" excelling in the hands-on construction of his local church, and is also a sought-after consultant in helping other churches grow and maximize their opportunities for ministry. His wife Joyce is an outstanding speaker and is deeply respected for her spiritual example and effectiveness in leading women.

Wyndham and Jeanie Shaw

Wyndham has served in his long and distinguished career as a campus minister, preaching minister and elder. He has experience in every aspect of church leadership: planting churches, serving in churches of various size and composition, building an elder-evangelist team, conflict resolution between congregations, and advising churches on how to experience new life and revival. Known for his wisdom, insight, compassion and strength, Wyndham brings unique and invaluable qualities to our workshop. His wife Jeanie is a vivacious woman whose life and faith inspire other women to be their very best for God. An outstanding speaker and presenter, her lessons will help you be a stronger woman, wife, mother and leader.
