The Next Chapter

When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. (Acts 4:13)

A few weeks after the death of Jesus, his supposedly defeated and dispirited followers burst upon the world, and changed it forever.

Nothing could stop them. They never shut up, slowed down, or settled in. They joyfully proclaimed their life-changing message of good news to the high and mighty, and the poor and lowly. They broke the barriers of persecution, tradition, religion, race, gender, and fear. For those willing to believe, a new life awaited - a life of freedom, joy and purpose.

We wonder... What was it about them?

They were no different from us. They were common people with an uncommon Lord. Jesus transformed them, and they turned their world upside down.

Today, can we recapture their heart, their spirit, their love, their faith and their power? Is Jesus the same in 2010 as he was in the days of the book of Acts? Will Jesus move in his church once again?

We who will attend the 2010 Festival of Faith say with unfaltering faith, Absolutely Yes! The Bible is still true. The Good News is still the greatest message of all time. God still loves us. The Holy Spirit is still our gift. Jesus is still our Lord.

We believe Jesus wants to write a new chapter of his working in the world. Right here. Right now. Today. This  hour. This moment. In our church. In your church. In your life.
